Answers! The 15 Characters Meme!

Post the second!

It's that time, kiddos! Are you ready for the answers? Too bad, you're getting them anyway, so sit the hell down and shut up. :p

The List!
1.  Captain Francis Rowdan Moira Crozier (The Terror, by Dan Simmons)
2.  Samantha Carter (Stargate SG-1)
3.  John Crichton (Farscape)
4.  Aeryn Sun (Farscape)
5.  Guerrero (Human Target)
6.  The Tenth Doctor (Doctor Who)
7.  Vala Mal Doran (Stargate SG-1)
8.  Jack O'Neill (Stargate SG-1)
9.  Ziva David (NCIS)
10.  Tulkas (TADers)
11.  Donna Noble (Doctor Who)
12.  Malcolm Reynolds (Firefly)
13.  Daniel Jackson (Stargate SG-1)
14.  Myka Bering (Warehouse 13)
15.  Sam Axe (Burn Notice)

A note and a disclaimer or two: first off, the links listed will take you to a wiki page in the case of most of the characters and an IMDB page in the case of most of the works from which they arose. Secondly, I have finished neither The Terror nor Farscape, so I do not have all the available information on the characters from those works. In other words, I'm working halfway in the dark. Think I did a damn good job anyway, if I do say so myself (which I do).

(Further note: if you follow the TADers link, I cannot be held responsible for any hours lost. You have been warned. (But you should go anyway!))

A whole passel from [livejournal.com profile] nobleplatypus:

1 (Captain Crozier) and 15 (Sam Axe) are stuck in an elevator for an hour. What do they talk about?

Though I highly doubt they would be stuck for an hour (both are too action oriented and skilled to just sit and wait for rescue), they would have some common ground. Being men of the sea, Sam and the Captain would no doubt converse about their various travels and missions during their respective military tenures. Crozier would sigh over the ineptness of Captain Sir John, Sam would sigh over the stubbornness of Michael, and they would both bemoan the complete lack of alcohol in the elevator. Once rescued, they would emerge great friends and meet up routinely to swap stories over drinks.

4 (Aeryn Sun), 8 (Jack O'Neill), and 10 (Tulkas) take a road trip! Where do they go? What sort of hijinks ensue?

Considering the nature of these three, they are most likely sent somewhere on a forced break, made to go somewhere nice and take some time off, relax, rejuvenate, &tc. They would, oddly enough, all agree to head to Jack's cabin. Getting there, however, would be a bit more difficult. First Aeryn would demand to drive, despite the fact that she had never driven before and that it would make more sense to let Jack - who owned the cabin - drive. She would not consent to let someone else take control and Jack would just let it slide. Tulkas, in a dark mood, would be snarky to a fault, driving them both up the wall. And he would change the radio station every five minutes. Eventually he and Aeryn would get into it, causing Jack to snap and put them both in the backseat. All three in a snit, they would arrive at the cabin and head as far away from each other as possible without taking to the woods entirely. However, after a night of drinking and poker, things would warm up a bit. Jack would still drive back, though, much to Aeryn's chagrin and Tulkas's amusement.

3 (John Crichton) fails to look both ways before crossing the street, and would have been hit by a bus had 9 (Ziva David) not knocked them out of the way. How does 3 (John) express their gratitude?

That would depend. We'll go with pre-somewhere-in-space John. This John would show gratitude with some aw shucks thank yous and a sincere offer to buy Ziva dinner. Ziva, charmed, would agree, then be grilled about it later by Tony. McGee would gloat about already knowing the details, Abby would make coy comments hinting that she knows as well, and even Gibbs would seem to know. Tony would brood. Ziva, smug, would plan a second date.

Would 5 (Guerrero) rather be roommates with 11 (Donna Noble) or 2 (Samantha Carter)? Explain.

Oooo. I'd say Sam, simply because Donna would be much nosier and Guerrero, cool as his is, would probably snap at her nosing. Though, on the other hand, I think Sam would be more likely to not be okay with some of the stuff he does. Still, I'd edge Sam over Donna because 1) she's usually off-world, on base, &tc and therefore rarely at home and 2) more likely to keep to herself. Plus, with her connections, she could totally be a contact.

6 (The Tenth Doctor), 7 (Vala Mal Doran), 14 (Myka Bering), and 12 (Malcolm Reynolds) go to the playground! What are their respective favorite pieces of playground equipment? Do they play together, or avoid one another?

The Doctor and Vala would directly head for the seesaw, while Myka would meander toward the swings and Mal would pretend to be uninterested before giving in and enjoying himself on the monkey bars. Vala would then leave the Doctor to tease Mal for a bit, then join Myka at the swings, where they would swing and talk. The Doctor would head for the slides, enjoy the swings for a bit, and wind up in the sandbox. Mal would eventually join him and together they would build a life-size sand replica of a Dalek. Finally, the crew would converge on the merry-go-round.

How much 1 (Crozier) would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck 1?

None. Crozier's too tough for that shit. But if it could, it would chuck as much as possible, because Crozier's just that awesome.

8 (Jack O'Neill) and 13 (Daniel Jackson) both profess their love for you. Whom do you choose and why?

Oh, man. I think I had a dream like this once. Okay - as much as I love Jack, I'd wind up picking Daniel. I think our personalities would mesh better in the long run and he has that whole hot archaeologist thing going on. Plus, girls make passes at boys who wear glasses. I'm just saying. But really, it would be a win/win either way. UNF.

What is 7 (Vala Mal Doran)'s favorite food?

Sticking with earth foods, I'm going with either oranges or caramel frappuccinos. Don't ask me why.

CHALLENGE: write a 100-word drabble in which 4 (Aeryn Sun) and 13 (Daniel Jackson) get lost in an IKEA.

Daniel came to a stop at an intersection of two aisles. He looked around, squinting across the massive space over display after display of artfully arranged furniture and accessories. "Lost in IKEA hell," he muttered under his breath.

"What?"

"Nothing. Does any of this look disturbingly familiar to you?"

Aeryn glanced around disinterestedly. "Not really. I mean, it's difficult to tell with so much j--" She broke off mid-sentence, staring at a large overstuffed chair to her right. "Actually, now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure we've passed that chair three times already."

Who on your list would be most likely to win on Dancing With the Stars?

Mmm... Ziva, probably. Seems probable that she would have some mad dancing skills up her sleeve. That lounge act she pulled in that one episode seems to hint at it. Though I think Tulkas, with his innate gracefulness, might give her a run for her money, as would the Doctor. Oddly enough, I get the feeling that Guerrero might give her some competition, too.

If someone wrote a musical about the epic love story of 5 (Guerrero) and 11 (Donna Noble), what would be the name of the famous, show-stopping number at the end of Act One? (For bonus points: write the chorus!)

"From Across the Room"

From across the room
our eyes met and I knew
no matter what happened
it would always be you
maybe we would never meet
maybe we would never speak
but my heart was already yours
from across the room

6 (The Tenth Doctor) accidentally travels through time and finds themselves in 10 (Tulkas)'s childhood, where they have a profound effect. How does 6 (The Tenth Doctor)'s behavior shape who 10 (Tulkas) is today? How would 10 (Tulkas) have turned out if 6 (The Tenth Doctor) hadn't been there?

Oh, dear. This could go so many different ways. Okay - a TARDIS malfunction throws the Doctor through time and space and all that wibbley-wobbley, timey-wimey stuff and he winds up in a pre-TADers scene with a young, bitter, human Tulkas. Tulkas, at this point unaware of his past, nevertheless carries the subconscious impression with him and the feelings from those buried memories have led to his sullen, combative nature. The Doctor - having just had a pretty terrible day himself - emerges from his blue box rather confused as to where and when he is and how he wound up there. He comes across the dark-faced young lad and strikes up a conversation. As is the case with any Doctor-accompanied meetings, Things Happen. The Doctor recognizes Tulkas as someone he once knew, eons and eons ago in a very different setting as a very different person. And he remembers. Knowing what he knows, he has an inkling of what, exactly, Tulkas is doing there, even if Tulkas has yet to find out. So he plants a bit of a seed, giving away his own story in the hopes that the knowledge will help Tulkas later. And it does. When Tulkas regains his memories - and receives the flood of emotions that comes with them - he also remembers the weird man he once met, years earlier, and the fantastical and terrible tale he shared about a world destroyed by the choice of one man. It helps him deal with his own dark history. And while Tulkas no doubt would have made it through anyway (with the help of many friends and former enemies, and the support of others living through the same thing) the memory of the Doctor's story - so much closer to his own than anyone else's - is a balm unlike any other. Great people, great power, great choices, grave mistakes, great pain - they both carry lifetimes of them.

And from [livejournal.com profile] meursalt:

What kind of candy would 13 (Daniel Jackson) get 1 (Crozier) for Valentine's Day?

Bailey's Irish creme truffles.

Who would win in an Iron Chef battle where the secret ingredient was Kobe beef, 9 (Ziva David) or 4 (Aeryn Sun)? (And the panel of judges are 5 (Guerrero), 7 (Vala Mal Doran), and 15 (Sam Axe), so plan accordingly.)

Based on cooking skills alone, I'd have to say Ziva. I'm pretty sure Aeryn couldn't cook to save her life, but I think Ziva might have a few culinary skills up her sleeves (you know, along with knives and whatnot), so she'd probably have the advantage there. Throw in the judges, though, and things could get interesting. Sam likes a pretty face just as much, if not more than, he likes good food, so he would probably be torn. He would attempt to focus entirely on the food, but he would also know that both women could kick his ass pretty darn effectively, so he wouldn't want to piss off either one. He'd call it a draw, maybe throw in a quip about the girls mud wrestling for it. Vala would, of course, vote for her doppleganger ("Hello, gorgeous") regardless of whether her dish was edible or not. Guerrero wouldn't see the need to lie, giving Ziva's better cooking his vote. Plus, he would see more of a kindred spirit in Ziva the slick former Mossad operative than in Aeryn the former military commando. However, that would leave us at a tie, leading to a sudden-death bake off, which Ziva would win by a hair, after somehow managing to sabatoge Aeryn's oven without anyone noticing. Guerrero would corner Ziva after the battle to pick her brain, Vala would drag Aeryn off for shopping and makeovers, and poor Sam would be left alone until he gets an urgent call from Michael and/or Fi and/or Maddy.

What game shows would 8 (Jack O'Neill), 12 (Malcolm Reynolds), and 6 (The Tenth Doctor) be best suited for?

Jeopardy! for the Doctor, no doubt. I could see Jack on Cash Cab or Hollywood Squares. The Dating Game, too. He'd also kick ass at the Amazing Race, given his black ops skills. He'd finish before anyone else even knew he was done. Mal could do the Race, too, since he knows about staying on the move, but he would have a much more difficult time dealing with the people. Tactful that boy ain't. He could work Survivor, though, as long as no one minded contestants dying.

2 (Samantha Carter) and 11 (Donna Noble) decide to play beer pong. Who gets sloushed first?

Tough one. Donna has a strong party side, which would increase her tolerance, but Sam's military, meaning she would bring the goods, too. No matter how much practice Donna might have had, Sam would have played pong a few times before, too. But, no, I'd definitely give it to Sam, simply for the fact that in a game requiring aim, our sharpshooter would have the vast upper hand over dear Donna. Sam would kick her ass and take her name and barely get a buzz doing so.

And, last but not least, from [livejournal.com profile] teh_elb:

3 (John Crichton) and 6 (The Tenth Doctor) are are called upon to save the world. From what, and how do they get along?

From some kind of space attack, OF COURSE. The TARDIS on Moya, them managing to royally piss off the Peacekeepers in a big way, yadda yadda yadda. Basically, shit would be going down and they would be the last (and only) line of defense. I think they would get along quite well, actually. John has the brains to keep up with the Doctor and even if he wouldn't always understand what the Doctor was talking about, he's a fast learner. The Doctor would appreciate that, and admire John's willingness to be all self-sacrificing if called for. Which, of course, it wouldn't be, because the Doctor would have a Plan. They would quickly establish a rapport and be able to work in sync with an instinctive shorthand. They would save the world, the Doctor would beam off into the ether, all would be right, yadda yadda yadda.

Now wasn't that fun?

Don't answer that.

Anything else, people? You can't break me with these girly prompts! I will fic - *clap* - you up!

(I will go ahead and apologize for that. I apologize.)

(Also, also: [livejournal.com profile] mr_razorz - I promise I'm working on the guest write. Well, not today, obviously, but I did get it started and I promise I will have it done by the 20th (only 'cause there's no way in hell it'll be done by the 6th). :D)
